Big Guns was a band that I had big plans for. I had management(Bi Daddy out of Boca Raton FLA) I had a keyboard player (Richie Ramuno from pinch), Bass Player , Bobby Young (from Pinch,Southpaw & Under the Gun) and then I added Wayne Orlowski on drums, a local kid who could realyy play high volume. I needed the voice. Management turned me on to Les Brown (Who had sung a song on the original Transformer Movie). We hit it off right away and started putting songs. We recorded the 5 Big Guns tunes in 2 days(about 8 hrs), we could do this because we rehearsed the material up before we went in. Les had a fallout with management and left the band to places unknown. I wish i could talk to him, but I have no idea where he is or went to. We replaced him with singer John Brindisi, who did a fine job replacing the vocals. I got hurt in an accident and broke my back and messed up my knee. I figured”Oh well I’m through with the business”. We did one farewell to Johnny gig(With Scott Hanley on bass, new songs and vocals) and the band was done. Wayne & John decided to play some gigs unser the name Big Guns which I wasn’t happy about. Last year I ran into Wayne, who told me he was going to start playing under the name Big Guns again. I asked him not to, as I had written all the songs, got the management, put everything together including the recordings. He wanted to kick my a**. Well to make a long story short, they are playing as Big Guns, but its a cover band, so don’t be fooled to think its the band on the recordings. Its actually the last 2 members brought in who haven’t the imagination to come up with an original name. Thats the short history of the band. The good thing is, the material was very good and has some of my finest guitar playing to that date. I still listen to these tunes and everybody including wayne and John B gave a great performance and I thank them for that…Johnny Press
