I hadn’t played in a band situation for about 12 yrs after my accident. I started going to jams and realized that I could be an effective player again. I wanted a singer 1st. i always remembered seeing Billy Peabody sing. I thought he had the coolest voice.I went through a few people and located his phone number. I called him and told him I was looking for a singer. He told me his band Blue Steele was looking for a guitar player. I played with the band for a little over a year. Unfortunately for them, I was still relearning how to get my sound and play with a blues band(instead of a blues-rock band which is much louder). After some sucessful gigs, they rehired their old guitarist and gave me the boot. Fortunately for me, Ed did some gigs with me in Soulshaker, then Ned did some gigs with me in Soulshaker, then Billy came to see me play in Soulsgaker. They came away with a different impression of my playing. Though this is the only band I ever got the boot from, its because of this experience that I now have the Johnny Press Mess. All good things come to those with patience…Johnny Press
